HM lighting question

how long can HM light system has been used? (not including the light bulb, i know it has to be change every 9 month)
Because I saw there are many HM light on ----. some of them are old(one or two years old). 175W and 250Ws. they are all under $80.
Is that a good idea to buy them? of course i will buy a new bulb for it too.

Ballasts usually have warranties that run around 5 years. It's probably a safe assumption that their expected lifetime is better than that. I've had great luck getting stuff on ----. If it's used I target a price, including shipping, to not exceed 50% of new retail. As of now I've never been mis-led.

Depending on its spectrum, a bulb will have a useful life of anywhere from 6-18 months with a good majority of the bulbs on the market lasting for 9-12 months.
The ballast should be good for at least 5 years, though components of magnetic ballasts can sometimes go out earlier.
Mogul sockets can last a long time as long as the contacts inside the socket don't corrode and the wiring is properly protected from the saltwater environment.
