The Birmingham News
Reported by Kent Faulk
Dead bull shark found floating in Lake Guntersville.
According to the article, a 3 foot long bull shark was found floating with a bass lure in it's mouth
Now I know bull's are one of the few that can survive in fresh water BUT that shark would have had travel an awful long way from the Gulf. I think hoax.

to have got there on it's own, it would have had to have gone from the Mississippi River to the Ohio, then to the Tennesee River, then to the lake where it was found. so I'd find that extremely doubtful. but that doesn't mean that the shark wasn't actually found there. maybe it was caught somewhere else and dumped there or something.
one other possibility would have been Hurricane Katrina, since some of these sharks were later found in lakes affected by that storm. but again, I would think it would be doubtfull.

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible short term, they've documented sharks swimming up into rivers. However it is also likely that he got dumped.

i believe that it could happen. i think that bull sharks give birth in fresh water. i may be wrong. after years of spawning and miles of each generation swimming up stream, you never know. i dont doubt it.

I believe there were 3 or 4 deaths documented in a New Jersey river back in early 1900's from a bull shark. However, this one was found dead which leads me to believe it was a dump.

well, I may be wrong, but I think I've read somewhere that (maybe like dogs eating grass) sharks will swim up rivers when they are sick and just die. Maybe they are hypoing themselves to rid themselves of parasites... But yeah I think a dump is quite likely as well.

Not sure how reliable the website is, but the article made sense.
