Hockey Puck

I'm going to make the jump to Light Speed and add live sand. I was just thinking about supporting my LR on hockey pucks stacked 2 to 3 high. Does this sound like a good idea or should I have my head examined?

Ummmmm .... not sure how hard rubber would hold up after time in saltwater. May breakdown and release something nasty into the water. I know materials like PVC and some plastics are good .. but never heard anyone using pucks.

I have seen advertised somewhere the grid type stacking shelves for liverock and thought that was a clever way to make less look more (plus keep it all stable). You might ask at your local fish place if they have those type of units available thru their wholesaler.

I just put about 75 pounds of Tufa rock in my 55 gal reef tank that I'm setting up. I plan on putting another 75 pounds of LR on top of that. Looks good so far!
