I hope you had a good trip, i LOVE mexico. Been six times and am dying to go back. where did you go?
I have a question for you , and i have tried to answer it myself, but cant seem to find the answers. I am graduating from U of M in a week here and am getting a digital cam. as a gift. I know that i have asked you about the the Canon S45 and you reccomended it, but now Canon has released the S50. But then there is the G3. The largest reason for me getting the G3 would be because it comes with Photoshop. I am very proficient with this program and really like it, but the S50 only comes with Arc Soft Camera suite. Any help/opinions/suggestions would be great.
P.S. not a whole lot has happened around here while you have been gone.
Muchas gracias por su ayuda amigo y bienvenidos a los estados unidos!!!

Sorry I'm not Ryebread, but I have a question. What version of Adobe does the G3 come with? All I've found is that it's the "limited edition." Is it photoshop 5? 6? 7?
Any yes, Rye, I too hope you had a great time in Mexico. Your wit and humor were missed around here.

Hey Justin,
Thanks for the welcome back! I flew into the Cancun Airport and we stayed in the Riviera Maya in a place called the Mayan Palace..........very swank. It was about twenty minutes away from Playa Del Carmen. Awesome trip........but, my belly doesn't think so.
I wouldn't exactly go for the G3 just for Photoshop but, it is an added bonus. The G3 is much better for close-focusing, it has a better metering system in it, it can take additional accessories too. Plus.....the lens takes in more light for lower lighting shots and the zoom is greater. The LCD on the back can swivel around and tuck in for protection........the positives are many.
If it is a gift.........then why are we even asking?? :D  :p

Unfortunately no, I have recently left the company which i worked for, (graphics design) and the copy that i had from them has recently expired. So now, i am stuck with a program that i cant operate because the license has expired and i have no way of getting a new one without paying for it. Plus, i thought that the version that came with the G3 was a full version, not the LE. I guess I am stuck for now.
I had a G3 fro about two days and took it back because the lens kept getting into the viewfinder. I didnt really give the camera a chance though. Maybe another go at it.
Rye,
The mayan palace is UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I havent been to the one in cancun, but i have stayed at the one on bothe neuvo, puerto vallarta, as well as acapulco. I have a timeshare through RCI, so i only have to pay 400 bucks for a week at any one of them!!! I looked at the rates for the room that i get in acapulco and it goes for 900 a night u.s.! Well worth it though. an extrememly nice resort that is really focused on guest service.

I never even noticed about the lens thing.......I just had to look to see what it is about. Doesn't matter to me.....I only use the LCD screen anyway....never look through the eye hole thing.
