ok i just bought a 250 watt medal halide......i have a 175 watt on the left and now a 250 on the right......is this to much light for a 75 gal? my goal is to be able to keep any type of coral i want.....at least that is the goal. but this light is bright. also will this light affect the fish in any way? any help will be greatly appreciated.

thats not too much light for your tank.... real sunlight is a lot brighter than even what you have now...
however it is a big difference and it could shock your existing corals and stress them out....
what most recommend is that u slowly adapt the corals to the new light by leaving the new light for shorter amounts of time at first then slowly leaving them on longer and longer until u have them back at your normal time schedule
that or you can try to move your corals lower in the tank then slowly move them back up to where they originally were...
