homade rock

hi guys, my friend just done biulding there fence and they have some nice chunks of concrete rock. is this safe for a fish tank.

I don't think but not sure 100%. However I have flagstone in my tank that I made some flat bottom caves with. It is now live rock and all sorts of things growing on it.

i went and got some and its just plain concrete. do i need to do anything besides rinsing it before it goes into the tank

If you are putting it in an established tank, I would cycle it in a rubbermade container first.
 
yeah its possible! i have my 55 gallon filled with half live rock and half rocks i got out of the lake (mostly lime stone) but if u cure the rock in fresh water for a month or 2 doing water changes everyday untill the ph is down u can. i just bought a big bucket thing from target and filled it with water from the hose outside.
