Congratulations, I see alot of families here in MIAMI-DADE, BROWARD and PALM BEACH counties with asian children these days, its a real growing trend here, I know one lady with 2 sisters from CHINA. Im glad he has a new opurtunity to have a "better" life. BUT im glad you have a son because I saw a 60minutes story on how there is a real shortage of little girls in alot of parts in CHINA.

I think that is wonderful of you! My wife and I have two of our own and have given thought to adopting our final. I think most people would be in agreement that there are few things worse then a child growing up without someone to love them and give them an opportunity in life and for giving that to your children I say well done!

jmick, thank you for your kind words. I read the saddest story today, and cried. I wish I could bring them all home and give them the love they need.
This is a true story
A little girl age three living in an orphanage was given a pretty red coat. (kids dont have much of thier own) another little girl who is waiting for heart surgury needed to have a picture taken so love without boundries could post her picture for surgury donations. The nannie took the little girls coat for the picture. The little girl cried and cried. The nannies told her to be good and share her coat. she contunued to cry so a nannie went to her to make her stop. they then realized that she wasnt crying about having to share her coat, she was asking to have her picture taken so she could find a family. She knew at three yrs old that kids that got thier pictures taken were adopted, and she wanted a family too.
Take care

congrats on your son!! Your pics look very familiar. Some friends of ours came back last summer from 3 weeks in/and around China to get their daughter. The "red couch" looks familiar. 7-11, Pizza Hut,KFC and Wal-Mart were the places that got them through. And even pizza and chicken were questionable.
The claim to "western food" became a joke. It was a long tough road but worth it in the end.

I think it's fantastic that you and your husband have given loving homes to 4 children who may have gone their whole lives without that if you hadn't been so giving to open your hearts and home!
I would like to ask you a question. How do the others react when you bring a new child home? Is there any jealousy or apprehension? Do you make them part of the process and include them? The reason I ask is because I think it is something that we will do and I'd like to make it as easy as possible on my children. Have you had any major issues and if so how did you fix them?
