My RO Unit takes 2-3 days to produce 5 gallons...it's been like that since new. What are others using to replenish their water ? I would like something that can fill a 5 Gal. jug in 8 hours or so. I'm looking for an economical model, so with price in mind...what are you running, and how much does it cost ?

I would say that there is something seriously wrong with it if it takes that long to produce 5 gallons of water. Have you checked to make sure the membrane and all filters are seated properly?

low water flow possible causes are high total dissolved solids, low water temp, clogged prefiler and the main one IMO is low source water pressure

Dear hobbyist, whenever you purchase an RO or an RO/DI unit,be sure to check the GPD (gallons per day) . Also, keep in mind that when an RO or an RO/DI unit comes from a 1/2" water line , it's going even into a smaller plastic water line which is 1/4'' . This is why these units take so long to produce a large amount of water . I have an RO/DI unit that produces 110 gpd. When filtering water, my unit produces 1 gallon of water in 15 minutes . So five gallons of water takes one hour and 15 minutes . Good luck with your unit .

If I am not mistaken does'nt the membrane dictate how many gpd you can produce? Someone please correct me if i am wrong. Also you can buy a pump to help increase your gpd rate.
