ok well i started my tank on sat and i'm on day 4 of cycling and i'm gettin a big bloom of brown alge! now i did a search and read some stuff and just want to make sure i under stand what i read! :thinking:
basicly its going to happen! not much i can do about it ! it will come and go on its own its part of cycling! all i can do is cut my lights back a little bit each day!
so am i right or wrong?? if you need any info on the tank here is my other thread ! w/ up to date water results !

Usually by "brown" algae in a new tank, it means diatoms, which isn't really algae at all but colonies of micro organisms. Typically a new tank will see some of this, but using Distilled or RO water will help.
