They can get basketball sized... had one never saw him (rarely) --- I assume he died (well he did die) and made my nitrates spike at one point and rotted cuz I never saw him again... but personally I wouldn't get one again

Like the 2 opinions you've already gotten...
If you DO manage to keep them alive, they grow bigger than your aquarium.

IMO, easy to keep in a species tank.
not for our community tanks.
Tend to have too little space, are bulldozers, a bit too warm, and too much flow. Most will die in our tanks without ever approaching a large size.

They'll end up sifting all the life out of your sandbed and starve before they reach full size. It's something fun to keep, if you are prepared for them to die quick.
Best kept in the ocean, IMO. Same with cleaner wrasses.

had one years ago. Will never again. They should not be in our tanks except maybe large species only tank with sand. They get stuck in the rocks and are very clumsy. Need LOTS of room.
Leave the poor guys in the wide open ocean.
