hospital tank and ich

I have a perc that had some white spots on him. I did a fw dip and am going to get garlic extract tommorow. I am going to set up a hospital tank just in case and needed to know how small it can be. I have a cultured hang-on to use and will probably do hypo. They seem fine now, but if it comes back they go in the h-tank. I have 3-damsels and 2-percs, all in all I have probably 8 inches. Can I use a 10 gallon for the Q-tank or is that too small.
Any other suggestions would be great.

Yes, a 10 gal will do, but if you ever need it for a larger fish, then you'll need to get a larger tank.
I'd aim for at least a 20gal.

OK, so a 10 would work for all the fish I have at the same time, but if I get a larger fish I'll need a larger tank. Any other suggestions
