Knock on wood i have not had any problems with disease. I know the possiblity is always there. So to be perpared can anyone inform me on how to set up a smaller size hospital tank .. hopefully something not too exspensive.
Do they need the same kind of filers as the main tank? Do they have to have same salinty? Do you need LR for it also??
Any info would be quite helpful
Thanks again :))

Hi Becky
IMO, a great filter for that kind of setup is the (Hagen) AquaClear 150. It's a self-contained hang on the back unit with foam & carbon inserts. Very simple, quiet and reliable. Cost ~$15.00. It's good for tanks up to 30 gallon.
cheers... :)

Becky; I agree that a Hagen or a Whisper 2 hang on filter works great on a hospital tank (that is what I use on mine). Agreed a heater is needed plus a place for the fish to hide in and your in business. To start it out right if your main tank is good I would use half the water plus half mixed to same salinity to start it off.
