What coral/anemones would be a good hardy host for a pair of Occilaris clowns? One is wild caught so that may make her more likly to accept a host, my tank raised one has started to host a rock with blue srooms and xenia on it, but the wild caught female wont join her mate.
The tank is a 10g with a coralife 96watt 50/50 light set up, the filtration is a biowheel hang on powerfilter anda powerhead with a sponge filter on it...I am upgrading to a canister filter soon though.
I was looking at BTA but I am worried about it mocing around so much, i have a feeling all anemones will do this.
thanks for the ideas :happyfish

In my opinion the best bet be to NOT put any anemone in a 10 gallon. Sorry if that's not what you want to hear, but it is the best bet. The xenia may if lucky make a good substitute

I am fine with getting them a coral host, i am just not sure what kind to get!
Only my tank riased clown will accpet the xenia, the wild caught one wont go into them...she digs a shallow hole instead
I was hoping to find something they both like, so they may breed...they both have picked nest sites but they wont use the same one, so they both clean the rocks, they still sleep together in the femals hole though.
What about Frogspawn, or bubble corals? I have heard of them hosting those, do they sting, or get to large for a 10? :happyfish

Two Ocellaris in my 10g in their frogspawn home......with that said, I'm not too sure as to the long-term effect on the coral with two over-zealous clown fish swimming through it 1,000x a day, and sleeping in it at night. I haven't really noticed any ill effect, and I have had it for 1.5 yrs, but I just can't recommend it. But here they are anyway.....

I have had a few host with a large toadstool leather. Not exactly the best thing especially at night time but they still accept it as a home.
