Hot water damage?

We have a 265 gallon reef and last week was very hot. Our tank is in the basement so it is the coolest part of the house. The temp got up to 89. We made a chiller and it brought the temp down anywere between 79 and 83. We did a 30 gallon water change. The temp has been lowered for about a week. But things are looking kinda sad. Is there anything else we can do? Or add?

89 in a reef for a few days won't do any harm at all. However the sudden change to lower the temp may have bothered the coral a bit, they should be alright..just give them time to recuperate.
P.S.
Coral like it warmer so they may be ticked off if you drop it to 78/79 try keeping it steady at 83

As Flower pointed out it's about keeping it stable.....

ok. we are also having a bit of a nitrate problem. we have it down to about 5 now but it was about 80 before we did the water change. it just spiked for no reason. i think that is under control now.this could also have been making things look a little sad. hopefully they perk back up. does anyone have any miracle tips for nitrate recovery?

Did you have any die off from the temp spike? That would be a good indication there is something!!!!! Water changes are the miracle cure!!!!! and remove what as died or decaying.
