Check this guy out!! It took him about 3 days, but he finally made it out of the rubber band. I didn't put it on too tight, but It was holding him. THis was a "free floater" from a good friend of mine. Good friend huh? He also gave me a bunch on rocks and snail shells.

Thanks! THey kinda change color from a flourescent green to the purple you see(maybe a little darker).
Yeah I thought that would coax him to take hold of the smaller rock. Now he seems to have prefered the big rock underneath.
WHat is the best way to "join" them to a piece of rock? I think this guy was out in the substrate of my friend's tank and he just wasn't really attatched to anything.

I'd really like to know that too. I have a shroom that isn't attached to anything. Just sittin in the substrate.
How did you use the rubberband without damaging it? Just wrapped it around it's base?

I am so afraid to touch or move my corals. I tried to move one of first mushromms to a better local after 3 weeks in the tank and it spit it's intestines out.

shrooms are THE easiest coral to deal with. I find them rather hard to kill.
If you have a few floating around your tank do the following
1. gather them up (duh) lol
2. Take a small plastic cup and fill it will small pieces of rock.
3. Toss in your shrooms
4. cover the cup with a fine mesh(Ie: that plastic netting stuff they use for floral bulbs)
5 Place the cup in a low flow area of the tank
6 Wait about one week and pull out the cup. The shrooms should be attached to the rocks
7 then take your new shroom rocks out and place or glue them anywhere you want on your reef
i find this work every time.
some tips to make things work better for you are
make sure the shrooms cant float out.
make sure the entire bottom of the cup is covered
make sure the flow is light
if you have the time take some portland cement and make yourself little reef plugs that fill the entire bottom of the cups/bowls so that all the shrooms will take to the same rock making yourself great multi rock. I do this when i have many differnt colors of shrooms and make interesting combos. I think metalic reds and blues really look great on the same rock.

Thanks for the tips, oceana!!
I'll try them on the next bunch. My buddy and I are going to collect differnt colors and then swap some to help each other out. I'm gonna get some stripeys and maybe som e reds from SWF.com. So this will come in handy! I like the multi-rock Idea. Thanks again!!
