How come you can mix most fish species, but not Seahorses???
I would like to buy the Seahorse - Red from SWF, but I have a Kuda.... :notsure:

I think the commonly held opinion is that seahorses of different species carry disease that they themselves are essentially immune to, but that they can pass the disease to other species who are not immune.
That is possible. I don't know.
My own opinions are not neccessarily popular, but I think that with WC seahorses, this phenomenon is more likely than with farm bred horses, especially if you can choose generation.
I also have a hard time with the widely kept idea that seahorses are so much different than their horizontal cousins.

I agree with that, Sea Horses come from a variety of areas. These ares are very wide spread.

So if I understand correctly; and please do correct me if I misunderstood
; WC seahorses have much better immune systems that TB, therefore greatly increasing the rate of passing diseases. I would also theorize that the TB horses would be kept in seperate species tanks. Also increasing the probability of passing diseases.
I also have a hard time with the widely kept idea that seahorses are so much different than their horizontal cousins.
I also agree with this too. They are fish after all, even though their appearance is completely opposite of the horizontal cousins.
Thanks Ponie

So worse case scenario both SH would contract diseases....even if you quarantined the new specie?
What other negative and/or positive aspects could you elaborate on? :notsure:
Thanks,
Rykna :happyfish
