How big can Colts get?

I dont know to much about colts, but when I woke up this morning my colt was lying on its side. Close to 12 hrs later he is still in the same potion. The Branches off the colt are out and bloomed I guess you would say. I was wondering could it be time to cut some frags off him? The base is bigger than a silver dollar, and when he is up-right he is close to 9-10 inches. My water conditions are fine and tank has been up for a long time. If I need to start trimming it how do you do that? THX Rick

The colt shouldn't be laying on its side even if it is too big.
I have plenty of it, I frag it when It starts touching other corals or when it starts to spread too much.
