Three years to go from the size of a pencil to a little over 2 feet and as thick as a quarter.

You say he doesn't come out much. Do you have lot of hiding places for him? Usually if they have enough hiding places, they will be out a whole lot more. Mine is usually out during the day, and out all the time at night. I got mine about a year ago, and really haven't noticed any drastic growth in him (probably cause I see him every day.) Bo

mine just pokes out of the rock and he only fully comes out every once in a while mine is about 15 or 16 inches
