How can I make a sump out of an old 10 or 20 gallon tank?

I've got 2 old tanks sitting in the basement and I am thinking about doing the nessecary steps in upgrading my 29 gallon DT from an "over the wall" filter to a sump system. Only problem is I know NOTHING about a sump.
Can I take one of my old tanks and turn it into a sump? And if so, what all will i need to get in order to do it? And last but not least, how do I set it up?!
I know it might take a little while with having to save, but my overall plan is; step 1: convert to sump, step 2: upgrade lighting, step 3: FINALLY step into the coral world! Any help would be appriciated! Thanks!

You are going to have to do a search here for the different styles of sumps people have come up with. I did mine with1/4 inch glass panels for the baffles and silicone. I used a 20g tank for my sump and a 29g for my refugium. The picture I attached wont really help you much but I originally used acrylic for the baffles but that last for about a year before they started acting up. Glass and acrylic and a little difficult to attach together. I then went to glass baffles and that fixed the problem. Since you have a glass sump you want to stick with glass baffles.
