How can you tell "GOOD" live rock

Caribbean (sp) I am not sure on, however, when looking at rock, look for slimy patches, not alot of color (btw this is what NOT to buy if you are hand selecting) You want pieces with lots of coraline agae. If it is uncured you will still see lots of pink, purple, green shades already on there. Look it over for aptasia. Fair price for Fiji rock in NY is about 6.99/lb uncured. There is one place that had a fiji mix for 5.99/lb on sale. You can get base rock for 1.99/lb and just mix it.

caribean rock is supposed to be more dense. I prefer the fiji rock its very light and porous with lots of holes in it.

if it smells bad don't buy it, lots of die off and it's not cured. I like tha fiji and tongan for the same reasons mtx stated.
