they close up then kinda turn a brownish color on the tip then get gooey(SP), and then either just melt or goo out and then you just throw it out..at least thats how my one green people eater died

That a good one. Zoas I think are really hardy so it isn't that easy to get rid of them unless the waters bad because they don't need that much flow or intense light. I am sure you will have good luck with them
