Shouldn't the fish be constantly banging into the glass?
I mean it's not like they can see the clear glass. :notsure:

they can see..if you look in your tank from an angle, you see a reflective picture...they get curious, go to the glass and then see you.

if your glass is not perfectly clean, you will have coralline algae and other little critters living on your glass, when seen all together make a visible wall.... plus what aquatics said :)

when I got my second clown fish who was wild caught he reacted just like Nemo in the movie. He keep turning in circles, bonked into the tank wall a couple of times, and then saw my other clown chloe. It was love at first sight. I have never seen another creature so relieved to see another of it's own kind. A shiver ran through both of them and then they raced at full speed and about ran one another down. Chloe was so excited she zipped around the tank 4 times and was so giddy she plowed right into the tan wall the fourth time around. They've been inseperable ever since.

some fish have much better eye sight than others. Angels for example have very good eyesight, both near and far sighted, to see predators and the exact types of little things they like to munch on

:happyfish personal experience as a fish.
we dive curved tanks on a regular basis and can't see out at all. it's reflective underwater so you can see yourself coming up to the side. i really don't notice it too much until someone outside is trying to get my attention, then a ghostlike image of their face appears.

and yes angels never seem to have a problem with the glass. rays love it and sharks bump all the time.

Good Question Kidwicked
Rykna, Is That Your Tank As Your Avatar? Can We See A Full Size Shot?
Sorry To Get Off Topic, But It Looks Nice In The Little Pic.

That used to be until I changed gears. I was getting frustrated with the so called specialists. I turned rebel and begain to write my own book. I got a wave 2k and just posted pics of the 90 gallon as it is today. But here is the old pic.

Maybe they don't see the glass, they're just trying not to swim into that other fish that looks just like them.

Hey thanks for showing the big pic. I like the rock work. I have no idea what wave 2K is, but I have seen your posts. I'll look at it another time. Right now I'm dealing with a nitrate spike that I am working on getting down with water changes.
Thanks again

Absolutely. Well, I say that based on how they react when I drain off some of the water, especially if I've been soaking their food in garlic.

Ya, mine too. My Nass. snails do the same thing. It's awesome to watch. Usually you only see a few snails in my tank, once the food goes in though suddenly a couple of hundred snails rise up from the sand and start scurrying around.
I would guess most inverts feed more by smell and touch.
