Have you tried to move around the live rock the day of a new addition, keeping the lights off for a day or so to let the new one get acclimated?

How much rock should I move around I have 350lbs of rock an corals. I heard about leaveing the lights off. I put the new fish in last night an my purple tang and my flame angle kicked his but, I pulled him out again. he has a few nicks on his fins. I only payed $30 for him he is a scopas tang, But I want to add 4 more fish that cost $100 each should i put them all in together?

you are better off putting them all in at once if you have 350lbs of live rock. Do it at night whne your fish are sleeping. He will have to make his aggression known to 4 new fish. Also what you could do is place a picture of a big yellow tang on front of the tank and move it every day. This could attract some attention from him. I have seen fish try and attack themselves in bare bottom tanks thinking they were another fish.
what fish do you plan on placing in there?

Achilles is a very aggressive fish. He will not put up with your tangs now. The clown is also very aggressive. You may have issues with those two with each other. QT the hell out of them. Hypo hypo

I disagree that achilles are aggressive fish. I had one that was killed by community fish!
I read that they were passive and could not put up with being bullied. Boy, they were right.
The one I had was VERY healthy, and pretty big too. He was bigger than all of my fish by at least 2 inches.
I found him completely dismantled the very next day. That was really sad because he was such a sweet fish with a great personality. He became $100 dinner.
I would not advice putting the achilles in until you get the aggression thing under control.
I also had a purple that was aggressive (at a different time than the achilles). I really like him but he was so mean, that he just HAD to go so I sold him ASAP.
Hope that helps.
Good luck!

Maybe mine was weird but I had only community fish in a reef and NONE of them have every been aggressive. He was also the largest fish that I had, and I put him in as my last fish.
Whatever happened to him... man... it was BRUTAL!!! And then all of my fish ate him! I keep like clowns and anthias and stuff like that... nothing mean at all!

All i know is with that much live rock and those 3 tangs, its gonna be hard to add anything else, have you though about trying to remove the mean ones (place them in the sump for a few days/ a week long) and then add the new ones and let them get established. Your tank right now has enough space to add a few fish, though i dont think more tangs are the best idea unless you plan on upgrading in the future 12-24 months... to a much larger tank. all of those fish get 8 inches+. And seeing as how you already have 2 zebrasoma tangs, that in itself could cause a problem down the road as they get larger...

maybe just add a fish that'll be no match for your purple tang, one which is CLEARLY more dominant, hopefully then the purple will realise he's not the boss and will calm down abit? like a trigger or something?

I have talked to lfs to see if he can get me all of my fish at one time. Maybe I will add them all at the same time and at night. If i could catch him i would put him in time out, move a couple of peaces of rock and hope for the best. Has anyone bought fish from here?

From SWF.com??
I have places a few orders. I like it. I think it' good value if you're getting multiple fish at one time.
I have ordered about 10 fish from here and I have never had a single death, or DOA. They are always healthy and always pretty. I haven't had any illnesses with SWF fish either. have even ordered corals too and am happy with them.
When you do big orders, you also get free gifts too, so that is nice. I got some cleaner clams once... They did die...

I was thinking of ordering some fish from here. Thanks for the feedback. it is alittle scary buying a fish you cant see.

I have never had an issue, and all of my fish are prettier than most that I buy at the LFS. If there is a problem, they are good about taking care of you too.
I have never had an issue, and I am about to place another order shortly for like 200 bucks worth of fish.
