Hi guys,
Just bought a bag of live sand and wanted to add it to my ten gallon, but was unsure of how to do so(other than the obvious!). I have a coral banded shr, emerald crab, clownfish, and a pseudo along with some live rock and a florida crushed coral base. what to do?

The best way is to open the bag, and hold it just over the surface your trying to cover. Then let out the sand little by little onto the surface, not much of the sand swirls around then, works pretty well. Good luck

I heard once, you can buy a long piece of pvc piping and a funnel, put the end of the pvc right above the sand line, then pour it in through the funnel then it goes right where you want it no mess.

I just used a cup to scoop it out of the bag and slowely poored it where I wanted it then spread it out. I added the water, but was unsure if I should have.

I just reread! My mistake! I edited it out of the other post so I don't look dumb. <img src="graemlins//silly.gif" border="0" alt="[silly]" />

What i did was put the bag on top of the surface of the water and then scoped some out and put it where i wanted t and then you can level out the sand. You do not have to worry about the water in the bag that can go in the tank as well.
