How do I clean/renew my bio-wheel for the next QT use???

When I am finished QTing and treating my fish (ick) I want to disinfect the tank to use it again.
But how do I disinfect the bio wheel???
use bleach like I will use to disinfect the tank??
buy a new bio-wheel???
or ????

Just leave it fishless for a month. That is all that is needed.

just to be perfectly clear
dont even bother with bleach or anything
just change the water and let it sit
Oh oh -- Also I had an idea
As far as cirulating and heating my water change water
What if I basically use my QT as the place to circulate and heat water for water changes??
If I do 5% a week changes this will use about half of the water from my 6 gallon QT so that this water (in the QT) will be continuously renewed as well.
I am sure I am not the first to think of it but it strikes me as a great idea
ok -- I can take it -- what's the down side?
Also - once you cycle your QT - how do you keep it cycled without any type of bioload??
won't the bacteria eventually die from not having an energy source?
