How do I compute tank size?

Hi is there a formula to compute my tank (gallon size)
based on dimensions of tank? Its 24" deep x 30" high x 48" wide. I got it from a friend and we're not sure the gallon size.
Also if I set it up as a marine salt water tank, with mixed use, is it overkill or not appropriate to use an underground filter as well as wet/dry, cannister, and skimmer. It came with 350 magnum cannister and skimmer, was thinking of adding wet/dry and underground. Thanks for any info.

Tank size is figured by length x width x height, divided by 231.
In relation to that, your tank is a standard 150gal (tall).
Undergravel filters are really useless, when it comes to salt tanks but the canister is something you could use...if for water movement alone. A skimmer is crucial and adding a sump/fuge to that would greatly improve the overall health of your tank.
