It should go away in time. Your tank has just been cycled recently, right? A lot of algea grows after the cycle.
Oh, and is it red or brown? If it is red, it is red slime algea. That isn't really an algea, but a bacteria. Nothing would eat it so a clean-up crew wouldn't help at all. What are your nitrates at?

I noticed brown patched in my sand too. My nitrites where at .1~.2 and nitrates at 10~20 and now they are all at 0 and my ph is about 8.2~.4ish. Is this a sign my tank has cylcled? It have not even been 2 weeks yet.

Sounds like diatoms, just part of your cycle, it will go away when when your tank stabilizes.

You will need to describe what is going on better, color would be nice to know, as well as other things, is it hair like, encrusting, does it blow off with a wave of your hand?
Give us a clue.
By the way folks I cleaned up this thread after the rather poor advice.

The green algea sound like the bryopsis algea I had in my tank. No hermits or snails would eat it. I did have some luck with emerald crabs eating it, and lettuce nudibranches would eat it too. Other than that, you'd need to remove it manually.
