How do I install a baffle on existing sump/fuge?

Back when my lfs put together my sump/fuge, they put in a (loose) baffle of eggcrate that separated the sump from the fuge section. I've noticed that pieces of chaeto will clog up my skimmer motor and I want to install a permanent baffle to avoid this.
What material should I use and how do I install it with water in it?

I would use the same material as the sump tank, and it needs to be empty to work on, I would run a canister or penguin type filter for 24 hours while the silicone sets on the new installed baffle. I also run a bubble air line (no stone) in the sump to keep water moving besides the intake hose that sends water to the fuge.

Ok, so the baffle would be glass then.
I don't have any other type of filter to run as a back up. Is there ANY way to glue it in place while it's wet (epoxy)?

You can use 1/4" acrylic, and make the baffle a pressure-locking baffle (google "pressure-locking baffles" and you should get an article or two).
Here's a good article:

What you do is use EPDM weatherstripping (Home Depot, etc) around the edges of the baffle (cut the baffle accordingly to allow for a tight seal) and push the baffle into place. I've used this on one of our setups for several years, and it works fine. The nice thing is you can move/remove the baffle(s) as needed.

That is a cool idea, I guess if you used it for a couple of years Saxman the adhesive is safe for reef tanks.
