How do I lower my salinity

I am confused on how to do this? Do I just take water out of the tank? Do I just replace the water I have taken out with conditioned tap water?

You remove some salt water - and replace with conditioned tap - just like you tought. Actually this is how you will be doing water changes anyway (except you will be replacing the removed water with pre-mixed salt water).
It's not that hard - your not the first person to over salinate your tank.

water is the only thing that evaprates from the tank while the salt is left behind..top off with aerated and conditioned water.
