how do i post my pictures on a thread?!?!? HELP

I'm an old man with little computer experience. I cannot even upload pictures properly on my new desktop. when I finally do find the correct picture(thanks to my genius son) it says that the picture is too big. I've seen large pictures on the site before and was wondering why not mine? Thank you.

create a photobucket account.
upload the photos to photobucket.
click on edit photo and resize it to the 600x480 size (i believe, it says message boards)
copy and paste the IMG file to your post.

Where would you find the photobucket to create an account and register because I want to post my new 125 gallon tank that I bought.
