Try taking a strip of airline hose and run it down the overflow pipe. I have the end of mine stuck under the lip of my box so it doesn't fall all the way through.

It's a trick the guy at my LFS showed me, I don't know exactly how it works, but it stops the slurping/gulping sound. I can still hear a little water trickle noise, but it's alot quieter then before.

I hear a lot of noise at the beginning when I installed it. It eventually quit after awhile....No noise period....Sometimes I even wonder if it's even running since I don't hear any noise from it....I still like RR tanks better after I bought this newer tank with it. :happyfish

Jake; "how often does the train go by the apartment?"
Elwood; "so often you wont even notice it"

How far down do you run the airhose tube?

My airline is about 2 feet long, but it was left over from something else. I was told it only needs to go down about 6-10 inches.

I figured that is what it needed was an air vent. I used a pice of straw last night and worked good it dosent have to be long
