how do u measure an eel?

i would like to know how big my eel is. other than a tape against the glass, is there a better way?

How do you measure an eel? Carefully.
Sorry, couldn't resist. I imagine if you ever see all of him you could compare him to other things in the tank to get a general idea.

Hold him in a circle, measure around him, then divide by pi.

Put a measuring tape along glass, get some one else to drag food along the front glass, and take a pic as it swims by, so it's still and you can do the math and get your length.

Most will jump, Then you gotta worry about the nasty bite that might ensue...Poor Eyesight..

i was lucky enuf to have her line up for me on the end of the tank. head in one corner tail curled slightly around the other. so pretty darn close to 13 inches. i'd say she was 9 inches when i brought her home. i took some video that is ok with my cell phone. i will try and put it on my myspace page. or any advise on where to post it?
