Hello,
Your selections could make for a war zone regarding all the damsels. The green chromis are peaceful and probably be the first to be picked on and killed. I would forget the anemonie, they are best left in the ocean, unless you are very experienced in this hobby.
I added a strawberry basslet to a established 55 gal tank, after two days it thought the tank was his and it killed off several fish until I could get the little devil out of the tank!
IMHO I would get the green chromis, eventually add up to 6 of them and maybe a dottyback or clown or blenny.

joe, i've been meaning to ask u,how old is or was your oldest anemone , i have seen you refer to your experience with them, in contradiction on several posts, but never haveheard as to how much, i love anemones, and would love ot find someone who has seen years, and if i can find someone with one for over five years(where one had actually lived for 5+years), i would love to get some advice, because i really would like ot have one but am not content with results that are not measured in yearS(not 1+ months), these creatues are beautiful, and should live many decades or longer, so IMO, i would not feel comfortable unless i knew i could keep them for several + years, i am not that cruel and do not wish the work for me and my wife, without a strong probability of success
but i would really like to try in the future, providing i have enough proven info to
TIA

oh yeah, about your post
i would definitely have at least 80 lbs of lr(especially for a reef), and a 4 inch sand bed(40 lbs doesn't sound enough), especially with more aggressive fish
you really don't have near enough of a bio filter to sustain those fish, 1 inch per 5 gallon, leaving you wiht 11 inches at the fishes maturity, the 3 chromi and the lawnmower pretty much hit that, but with enough lr and a good dsb you can push the limit a bit, some say 1 inch per 2 gal,
with a well set up and mature system

HTH
what does good filtration and skimmer refer to? these factors can help too(maybe a little)

fshhub thanks for all of your replies every since i have been on the boards you have helped me and everyone else but yes i have kept a long tentical(very proud of it) and a condy for probably a year now and it has been great but it should be hard for you to find someone who has had one live for 5+ years but i have seen one guy who has 11 anenomies in one 75 gallon and i think you could get more advice with him but if not just ask me whatever and i will try to help you as with mine it seems i learn somethin new every day
good luck if you decide to get an anenome they are awesome and challenging creature and i to would like to see these great creatures live in decades by reef hobbiest not months and should only be kept by experience reefers

joe, i am not quite ready yet, but thanks for the offer, as i have mentioned in other posts, our new tank is quite juvenile(going on 5 months), and until it is mature i will not even attempt these, but i will be asking you in the future
but i do have one question for now, we currently have our 75 gal with 2 x 55w 10000k pc lights, and are looking for new lighting(additional) for corals which we will start adding in a couple of months, anyhow, what is some things i may wish to keep in mind for anemones, maybe i could purchase to accommmodate both i already know what i was looking at for corals, and don't know if the same lighting would be adequate or too good, what i am asking is what type and power of lighting is good for them?
TIA

well one main thing that will help an anemone alot more than ppl think is the right fish counterpart like for my long tentical that i have i got a domino which i read was the best fish to go with my type of anenome and once i put him in he fell in love he will do ne thing for it if the waste is not drawn out with the current and wraps around or is fixing to it will chew away a peice where is will get off which is vital to the anenomes life or if a fish gets to close or is fixing to harm the anenome he doesnt take it he will fight fight and fight some more until the other fish or invertibrate is away from his friend but neways once you r ready for one research and try to get the perfect fish to go with it

Hello joe5_15 ,
I registered on this site a little over a year ago but during this past summer and fall I have been very busy outside in the garden and at work and haven't spent a lot of time of this BB.
I find it great that you have had such good luck with the anemonies. The LFS has one living for almost 2 years in a display tank. But the dead/dying ones I have seen in the retail tanks are rather heartbreaking.
I have 3 saltwater tanks at this time though I have had many types of fish in the house or pond for most of 47 years. This hobby has changed and still is over the years that there is always something new to learn and I look forward to hearing about whatever is new. I wish you continued good luck with the anemonies and maybe some day u can write a book about your efforts. There are so few good books out there and some have outdated info since they haven't been rewritten for years. I have a couple of those old books in my collection.
Keep us informed about what u do next with your aggressive tank. I just removed an hippo tang because it suddenly decided it didn't like the 2 neon gobies and chased them all over the tank.

thank you very much dathem but i have to say that there is many who will probably know alot more than me but my anemonies have been great and most pleasin to see them do well and today for my 55 i got a long nose butterfly and butterflys are suppose to nip and stuff at the anemonies but i was wantin to see what this long nose would do since its mouth which is really a beak would do but it is a very peacful fish and has not look at my anemonie as prey at all but my domino will keep its eye on it for me
