How do you control algae

Everytime I have ever started a tank up from my 10 to my 65 and now to my 220 everytime i have trouble with brown algae outbreaks. how are you supposed to control this?

Its natural in new tanks ,it happens in every one.At least in the 4 saltwater tanks ive had.Diatom blooms will eventually go away on there own if you maintain you tank properly.

It is normal to have algae in a new tank once they mature (after 6-8months) you shouldn't see any more outbreaks unless you have a water quality issue.
The easiest way to control algae is reduce the amount of excess nutrients in the water by not overfeeding, not overstocking, regular water changes, and using a good protien skimmer.
