How do you cut and shape base rock / LR

Hello all,

I've always taken a hammer and chisel to most of the lighter weight rocks to make certain shapes, but what about ya'll?

I want to make a few flat pieces and some different shapes and what-nots. What kind of blade, saw, or device would you use?

Would it be possible to cut something like that on a tile saw or a large hand held grinder?

Just trying to think of a few ideas of how to get some rock shapes.

I agree with Corey on the angle grinder, but I prefer a diamond cutting wheel on the angle grinder cuts like a hot knife in butter......

My guess would be a contractor sized brick or masonry saw. You could do it with a grinder just have to do a lot more cutting on large pieces.

Hmm, yeah, I guess you could do it with the angle grinder, but it would definitely be a lot more cutting. I've always enjoyed rock shapes that are relatively flat, to make plenty of room on top for corals, and to make it look like dead tabling acroporas...
