How do you deal with electrical wires/cords inside your stand

With very limited space I am risking all these electrical wires on & next to my sump. My main power outlet sits on top of the sump, and lots of other electrical wires plugging it either go back to the tank (powerheads), heater into the sump, to the protein skimmer, and extra outlet. So open the stand beside my sump, just a lot of electric cords everywhere. some i tied with velcro, plastic straps to organize it, but i afraid what if the outlet extension goes into the sump, creating electric shock. I often have to clean off the salt residue pretty much everywhere inside the stand.
How do you arrange your cords? do you nailed the outlet extension onto the stand?

You are not alone H2O.
I count no less than 10 power cords under my 75 tank, and that's with no powerheads in the main tank.
I've seen some folks use small waterproof outdoor type of electrical enclosures, and terminate most of their wires in such boxes.
I'm planning something similar, since the space under my tank is very tight as well, and will be building an enclosed ( vented ) DIY stand/table that sits "next" to my display tank/stand that will house all of the electrical power stips and ballasts.
As long as you isolate the plugs & terminal strips, keep them protected from salt spray, the wires can just be ties or bundled however you see fit.
I would suggest securing any powerstrips so they can not "FALL" into a sump ASAP !
That's sounds very dangerous, and should be addressed soon in my opinion.

on my 125 that i just got done setting up and am 10 days into the cycle, well it has 2 powerstips that are screwed into the side, high, horozontally. then the wire from each piece of equiptment ties to pvc using quick ties, just to make it look tidy. the wires all eventually come together and run parallel, like a wiring harness. at the top of all the pvc, the wires branch off and are secured to the underside of the wood on the stand, run across the top back corner and then right into the powerstrips......any excess wire is looped tight with more quickties.........my advise, quickties, quickties, and yep, thats right, more quickties........it looks very nice and i have room to do whatever i need to do underthere......and NO chance for water to get on any outlet......oh, my reeftank needs a lot of work in that department, i kick myself every time i look down there
