Okay, I bought some Formula One with gel binder. Tried to thaw it out to feed to the fish like most frozen food, but lo and behold, it doesn't thaw out into small pieces.(duh, gel binder) (the stuff wreaks too!!!) So, how are you suppose to feed this to the fish? Did I buy the wrong stuff? :notsure:

What are you trying to feed? Just break it apart. Finicky eaters may not want it, but most will eat it.

Got 2 clowns, LMB, 2 firefish & royal gamma in a 55. I eventually broke it into small pieces, but I thought there was another trick to it. Thanks, sep.

Buy Prime Reef instead next time, and Piscine Mysis shrimp is one of the best food for meat eaters. The clowns & LMB need some algae in their diet, get formula 2, algae sheets or nori.

Got the Mysis, got the Nori, got the veggie mix. Wanted to add some more variety so I gave the formula one a shot. I'll give formula 2 a shot as well. Thanks for your advice!

ya, i had formula one just going to waste till i got an eel. it is great because it always sinks to the bottom, and i cut it up into pieces and he take them down. the other fish dont touch it once it hits the bottom. easiest way ot feed an eel i think..

Same here. Even when i cut it up, the fish don't touch it once it hits the bottom. Wonder if it would make good plant fertilizer? :notsure:

What I did was, when I out nori sheet for my fishes to eat I put F1 and F2 and some krill in the together soak with garlic and selcom and than put in the tank..they go crazy and eat everything in 2 minutes...The best thing about is that even my wrasses and triggers eat seaweed now. i never saw trigger eat seaweed, but I guess they thin they are tangs now. =)

For frozen Formula 1 & 2, I'll take a small glass bowl full of tank water, put some slices of food into it, and then in a few minutes it's softened up so I can mash it a bit with my fingertips . . . gets it into much smaller pieces.
No complaints from the diners yet . . . other than they obviously think I'm not feeding them enough.

Couldn't get rid of the smell. Was afraid dogs in heat would come running... :hilarious :hilarious

i just take a cube of it, and put it in the tank. while holding onto the cube, i rub on it with my thumb and forefinger until chunks come off. after i think the fishes have had enough, i put the rest of the cube back into the package.
