How do you ground probe a tank?

I was wondering how you ground probe a tank? All my outlets have 3 prongs and I use an extension cord that is pluged into the wall.
Please advice,
Marguerite

You can buy a probe that is designed specifically for grounding a tank to assure no stray voltage in the tank. The rod, usually placed in sump, or out of site, goes into the water, and has a cord attached, that can be grounded.

The outlet that it goes into needs to be grounded. And just because you have 3-prong outlets, doesn't mean that it is grounded. Also, better not to use just and extention cord, unless it to is 3-pronge.
