how do you keep your tank clean if you have no clean up crew

I got to thinking and this might be a no brainer but hey
So if you have a coral tank with snails and crabs to keep it clean then how do you keep your fish only tanks clean?
I want to add a fish to my reef but it will eat snails and crabs so that is why i am asking

You are just making more work for your self. By adding a fish that limits the choices of CUC.
