How do you lower ph and nitrate?

My tank parameters are ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 12.5-25, and PH 8.6. My tank has had an ammonia spike and I think its nearing the end of the cycle. I just want to know how you lower a tanks ph and nitrate? will they eventually just go down or do I need some sort of chemical or something? please help!!!

If you are cycling they should go down on their own. A water change during cycling makes the cycle last longer so wait till the cycle is don't before any water changes.
