ok im not sure how far this will go but...sit back and really think of how much u have spent on everything then think of how much u have lost...MAYBE gained? doubt it.. lol
then post around how much it was
if you want u can post some other hobbies u like that are expensive too
Im just really curious about how much all of u have spent on your tanks, i know we all love them and think its worth it, i also wonder if you are in other expensive hobbies

my tank is a 180 gallon with custom made oak stand and canopy, in-stand fuge/sump, etc etc. with everything including livestock, I'd guess probably $3000+ with an ongoing cost of about $200 per month (electricity, salt, water, bulbs, new livestock, etc).
I'm also into guitars, which can be expensive. like fish, I always think "I could definitely use another guitar".

I don't even want to think of how much I have spent over 30+ years of this hobby. Much less, how much I have lost. I like to think I have given alot of it away though. Which makes me feel a little better.

I will never admit how much I have spent on this hobby. Its downright incriminating for a married man to speak of such things.

I'm on my third tank, and my first one was ALL retail prices. I'd say an easy 10 grand so far.
but when you total of like that, it looks intimidating and almost stupid. But the hobby definitly nickle and dimes ya.

I would say I have about 4 grand rapped up in my 92 gal so far.
That is uncluding losses and stuff that did not go so well
Other expensive hobby is my dart frogs. In my frog room I probbaly have about 6 grand wrapped up in tank and frogs.
Thank fully they are finally almost all breeding well and I am started to make a couple hundred of that back a month. But then all I manage to do is buy more frogs
