How far should a hammer extend

I have a frog spawn and a hammer. The frog spawn extends 4-6 inches. The hammer extends for 2". How far should they extend. Not the sweeper but the normal polyps.
Its a branching hammer that sits about 4" from the froggie when the froggie is fully extended. Other than that there is only a few shrooms and polyps near it. I have had it for about 4-5 months and it has always been like this. I just want to make certain that its happy.

My hammers expand about 2", so I would say they're fine.

Yeah my forgspawn extends much further than my hammer. I think the frog just has longer and larger polyps.

speaks for itself. the base itself was only about 2" (pic is a yr old)

Still have her and the base has grown probably 2" upward and another inch horizontal but she doesn't extend much more than she ever did.
