picasso's grow very slow...I have had my current one for about a year now and it has grown maybe 1/2" to 1" in that time.

Agree, very slow...I had one for 5+ years in my previous tank, I would say he averaged well under an inch a year.

Do Nigers grow a lot faster? Because my Niger has gotten bigger in a matter of months.

My parents Picasso has gone from 2.5" to 3.5" in about a year and a half.
Nigers are much more liberal growers. I would expect a 'growth hump' like kjr mentioned, but I would think it would be higher then 5".

I have both a Niger and a Huma Huma in my tank the Huma was the larger of the 2 when I bought them last year at 2 inches the Niger was 1 inch a little guy. The Niger is now over 6 inches and the Huma is barely 3 inches yet the Hum still is the boss of the 2.

Yea, when I bought my Niger a few months ago it was smaller than my maroon clown. Now it's outgrown it.

Very interesting...I have a niger as well, and it is growing about the pace of the picasso if not a little slower. Must be that dang tap water
