How fast do lions grow

I would really like to get a volitain lion for a 55 gal tank. I know that it is a bit small.....but.... If I got a 2inch fish could I get a year or two with it before it grows up? I can take him to a LF or get a bigger tank when he grows up.
I was thinking of a Humu trigger as well...same question.

Thanks for the info.
Maybe I should look at a dwarf lion. and from what I have been reading, sounds like triggers are something you really have to want, because they seem to eat or destroy almost anything. They start off so small and cute.
are there any small mild triggers?
will lion fish eat snails and hermit crabs?

I have a BIG volitan in with my pretty big Niger Trigger... They don't seem to have any problems. Nigers are a little more on the relaxed side when you're talking triggers... and mine has never really bothered anybody. As for how fast they grow... WOW. I got my lion about 4 months ago and he was about 6 inches long. Now, he's at least 10 inches long and FAT!!!!! So, I guess it depends on the individual as much as it can depends on the species.... my 2 cents...
