when I do a water change this will require my Xenia, zoos and toadstools to be out of water until I fill it back up. Is this okay or how do you all do it?

When I ran canister filters.....I removed water to the point of just above the coral and add the new water...I wait a little to let it circulate and then do it again and again until the amount of water in my tub is empty. It won't hurt the coral to be out of water for a few minutes, but it's hard on them and they get mad and close up for days.
Now I have a sump and I add and remove water there.
Problem is this is a 300 gal tank and there is less than 75 gal in sump? I have been moving the corals each time but don't want to have to do that anymore

I do the following on my Sea horse tank...
I remove top water as the pumps still run. The sump line drops but the DT does not...be careful to not expose the return pump...I keep a bucket of new saltwater mix right there just in case. I add the new water to the sump back to the original line. Then I let it sit an hour to circulate and rest my back...then I do it all over again until I have swaped out the right amount of water. In a big tank thats quite a bit of messing around with it but it will work without disturbing the coral or DT critters at all.
