How long can LR be out of a water before....

In the time it takes you to re-arrange your tank, I don't think it will be a problem.

Hmm, if you are afraid of die off from having it out of the tank I would probably do this in steps rather than all at once. I would think you would be ok so long as the LR did not dry out...perhaps you could take a piece out do some chiseling and then place it back in the water for a few then continue. Never tried this myself, but this is probably what I would do.
