Most die very quickly in home aquariums. I'd estimate over 95% of anemones die within the first year because of bad husbandry, such as bad lighting and/or bad water conditions. Very sad, considering they can live forever in an ideal environment (eg. free of predators, stable habitat, etc.) Since they can regenerate any part of their body and organs, I believe they cannot die of old-age, though I doubt anybody has tested this theory.

I've seen some in peoples aquariums that are YEARS old. Make sure you learn how to treat one and feed it as you should and always keep your water perfect.
Its thought that anemones can live a hundred + years in the wild.. but nobody has really stayed out there that long to find out :)
I've heard from a diver that he believes that they could only possibly live 100 years in your aquarium.. he says he sees them die off every couple years during a big storm around the coast of FL...
Its even thought that some of the anemones brought into your home are several years old. Maybe some even 100 years old.... and then most people bring them to their home and they end up dying due to poor conditions... thats very sad to think about.

Agree with all of the above comments.
Nobody knows how long they live in the wild. Most live short lives once put into aquariums due to inproper setups. So, be responsible and have the appropriate setup before getting one. once you do, be prepared to keep it for a very long time!!!
