7a.m.- actinics on
12p.m.-main lights on
6p.m.-main lights off
9p.m.-actinics off
9p.m.-moonlights on
11p.m.-moonlights off
Something like that may work. Pretty much any schedule that simulates sunrise, sun peak, sunset, and finaly moonlight will be ok. I have read that most people have 12-14 hours of light total each day.

me personally i have 260w pc lighting i leave on for bout 14hrs because i have a clam which i did not know needed higher lighting (soon upgrading to t5 324w in 4 weeks) i leave both atcinits and main lights at the same time, gives it a better view i beleive, plus i paid for it so ill do it who cares what they say!

Good question. I would say yes but if you have them on a timer and want a little light in the morning when you wake up have them turn back on. I think it's good for the nocturnal creatures to have complete darkness at times.

1 PM - Actinics on
2 PM - Dalylights on
10 PM Daylights off
11PM Actinics off
I've been running on this schedule for about 6 months now and I am getting fantastic growth on my corals and coraline algae.
