How long does it take for Dead rock to be LR?

Wanted to know if the dead rock that i've had in my tank for about 6 months now might be considered LR? IT was in there alone for about 3 months and has had LR that i bought at the LFS with it for 3 months.

when you say dead rock? are you referring to base rock? If so, it will never truly be LR, but eventually life will move to the rock and it will be better than no rock.

Actually it is live in that by now it has an established bacteria colony on /in it. It may not be pretty but its technically live.
