you're going to have to re-cure it :D i think it would be ok for a couple hours, but if it's being shipped from somewhere there's going to be some die off if it's in transit for a day or two.

It still lives in its packages cause inside of the rock still got some live organism where there is still some moisture to keep it alive. So the outter layer dies off until you recure it and have it reproduce again.

not a good idea, why so long? trying to save on shipping costs? the longer it is the more die off you'll have. what are you using the live rock for? are you cycling a tank with it? if not you're going to have to re-cure it in a seperate container. are you familiar with this procedure?

Well, I bought rock directly from Walt Smith through a friend of his...and because of all these shipping delays its going to be 5+ days with it sitting in its bag and such. Im starting to get alittle upset. My biggest thing was I wanted as much hitchhikers and such as I could get and Im not sure how long those things can live enclosed in a cold bag. The tank is brand new. I was going to cycle with them and do frequent water changes.

they dont ship it in water, they wrap it in damp newspaper. your gonna have a big cure alot of die off. i wouldnt expect too many hichhikers after that long....good luck!

Yeah its better to buy it from a local fish store where the rock is already been cured. How many pound are you getting by the way and how much was it?

Well... I bought 88lbs, but i think they went ahead and through in more. cuz it is weighing in around 130lbs. I paid $260. A friend of mine went to school with Walt Smith, so he sends LR to him direct at low cost. straight from the docks

They found out the reason is hasnt been delivered is that it leaked so they sent it back to sender. So they are supposed to remail some tonight for tomorrow
